GOODWILL CONTRIBUTION BY TEMASEK GROUP OF COMPANIES TO JAKARTA

       Jakarta, 22 July 03 - Temasek Holdings, together with 8 leading Singapore companies, presented two thermal imaging scanners to Jakarta today as part of the Temasek Group's ongoing efforts to forge closer relationships with Singapore's neighbouring economies. The co-sponsors of this contribution are CapitaLand, DBS, Keppel Corporation, PSA Corporation, SembCorp Industries, Singapore Airlines Singapore Technologies Telemedia and SingTel.

       Ms Ho Ching, Executive Director of Temasek Holdings, presented the scanners to Indonesia's Minister of Communications Bapak Agum Gumelar in a ceremony this morning at the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta. Representatives of the Temasek-linked companies were also present to register their support. The two thermal imaging scanners will be installed and used at the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.

       In a letter to the Minister, Ms Ho Ching said, "We hope (the scanners) can be useful, and represent a token of our support for Indonesia and her people. We take this opportunity to thank you and your government for the support given to many of the companies in the Temasek Holdings Group in their investments and partnerships in Indonesia. We look forward to strengthening our commitment to Indonesia's economic development in the years ahead."

       This latest contribution to Jakarta by the Temasek Group of Companies follows earlier contributions to Beijing and Shanghai. These tokens of support underscore the commitment of the Temasek Group towards enhancing the economic prosperity of the region.
